Overview
Crude oil at our tank farms
Held for traders and refiners between voyages, or blended to a refinery’s feed specification. Waxy and heavy grades are kept heated and mixed so they stay pumpable.
Floating roofs, low losses
Crude is volatile, and every cubic metre that breathes off the tank is a cubic metre lost. External floating roofs ride on the product surface and cut evaporation to a fraction of a fixed roof's, which is why they are the standard tank for large crude volumes everywhere in the network.
Waxy and heavy grades stay pumpable
Not all crude flows on its own. Coil heating holds waxy and heavy grades above their pour point and side-entry mixers keep the tank contents uniform, whether the cargo is waiting for its vessel or being blended to a refinery's feed specification.
Measured against the assay
Crude trades on its assay, not a general specification. On receipt we report API gravity, sulfur, BS&W, pour point, vapour pressure, salt and total acid number by the ASTM methods on this page, so the cargo is settled against the assay of its grade.
Where we store it
Crude tankage is offered at Rotterdam, Houston, Jurong and Fujairah, on spot, seasonal or multi-year terms, bonded or duty paid. Full lease terms are on the tank storage leasing page.
